Les Arcs in summer — the cultural side?

You will be charmed by the richness of the cultural heritage of Les Arcs.

Les Arcs in summer in festive mood

Les Arcs host a number of free events and traditional festivals. You can discover the local culture and traditions during folk festivals, such as the Edelweiss Festival in July. You can discover local produce at the mountain agriculture fair (and food lovers will surely get to taste it too).

Les Arcs also hosts a classical music festival with a variety of free concerts.

Discover the architectural heritage of Les Arcs in summer

The Les Arcs Tourist Office offers free guided walks on the avant-garde, functional architecture of Arcs 1600 and Arcs 1800. You will follow in the footsteps of Charlotte Perriand, the famous architect and designer behind the resort. She imagined the perfect ski resort that would climb the slope to form a whole where every floor would have a view of the horizon.

Les Arcs in summer along the Baroque trails?

The Baroque trails were created in 1992 for the Albertville Olympic Games. They bring together 80 sites of Savoyard Baroque art, mainly chapels and churches. While discovering these preserved heritage gems of Savoie, you will learn about the harsh life of mountain dwellers in the 17th and 18th centuries, who sold their products — including their cheeses — to fund the embellishment of their places of worship.

We particularly recommend a visit to the Saint-Grat Chapel in Vulmix, which features medieval frescoes telling the legend of its patron saint like a comic strip.

The Saint-Martin de la Tour church in Hauteville-Godon also offers sensory and unusual visits to discover the richness of its Baroque décor.

Lastly, don’t miss a detour to the high-altitude Baroque sanctuary of Notre Dame des Vernettes.

Street Art in Moutiers

A change of scenery and style… Dive into the colourful, escapist world of street art on the Moutiers Street Art trail at the entrance to the Tarentaise valley leading up to Les Arcs. Around forty monumental frescoes, stencils, graffiti and collages bring colour to the streets of the former capital of the Tarentaise.

Les Arcs in summer in terms of activities?

No fewer than thirty mountain, leisure or sporting activities can be discovered in Les Arcs in summer, for every taste and fitness level. Why not be tempted by water sports (rafting, canyoning…), aerial activities (paragliding, climbing, via ferrata…), more or less extreme experiences (downhill mountain biking or electric mountain biking, deval bike…), or quieter pursuits (mountain yoga, contemplative or sporty hikes, hiking, an overnight stay at the Saut refuge, mountain golf…).
