Bringing the whole family together under one roof is what a chalet does best. The children have their own bunk room and games, the grandparents a quiet bedroom, and everyone meets around the same table in the evening. The key is choosing the right chalet: how far from ski school, how many bedrooms, what space for the children, what comfort for the older generation.
Pointe de Sel helps you make that choice in four Savoie resorts (Courchevel, Méribel, La Plagne and Les Arcs), then arranges your stay so that parents get a real holiday too.

A chalet for every generation
With young children
Being close to ski school makes all the difference: less walking in ski boots, less tiredness, more time on the slopes. The Mont-Blanc View Apartment, Chalet Saule, Chalet Mayor and Chalet La Biche are all a short distance from ski school. Children also love the bunk rooms at the Mont-Blanc View Apartment and Chalet Albert, and the four-bed room at Chalet Etoile des Neiges, where they sleep together while parents keep their own room.
With teenagers
Teenagers like having their own space: the cinema room, table football and pinball at Chalet du Bois Melay, or the pool at La Ferme de Mon Grand-Père. Ski-in ski-out access also gives them more independence, as at Chalet Saule in Arc 1600.
With grandparents
For a multi-generational family gathering, space matters as much as comfort. La Ferme de Mon Grand-Père sleeps up to 18 guests, with a chef and driver included. Chalet du Bois Melay has a ground-floor bedroom on the same level as the living room. At Chalet Saule, living spaces over several floors let each generation keep its own rhythm. The Mont-Blanc View Apartment is served by a lift.
Please note: Chalet La Biche is reached by a long flight of steps. For less mobile grandparents, we will suggest another chalet.
A holiday for the children… and for the parents
A successful family holiday also means parents who get to rest. Whichever property you choose, Pointe de Sel takes care of the arrangements so you can make the most of your stay:
- children’s ski lessons, booked in advance. Many ski schools offer first introduction-to-skiing sessions from age 3, sometimes slightly earlier depending on the school and the child;
- childcare suited to your children’s ages, from toddlers to older children, provided by our trusted partners subject to availability, and we make sure everything runs smoothly;
- in-chalet dining: a private chef for one dinner, a few evenings or the whole week, or prepared meals delivered to the chalet;
- ski equipment and lift passes delivered to the chalet;
- transfers from the station or airport;
- a Christmas tree, and thoughtful touches to make your stay run smoothly.
An evening for two while the children are looked after, a quiet morning while they are at ski school: that is also what a luxury family holiday is about.
Which resort for a family holiday?
- La Plagne: a resort designed for families, with villages at the foot of the slopes and the Paradiski area. Home to Chalet du Bois Melay, the Mont-Blanc View Apartment and Chalet Albert.
- Les Arcs: many ski-in ski-out chalets and Charlotte Perriand’s architecture, linked to La Plagne by Paradiski. Chalet Saule is in the heart of Arc 1600.
- Méribel: at the centre of Les 3 Vallées, with quiet areas such as Mussillon, home to La Ferme de Mon Grand-Père and Chalet Etoile des Neiges.
- Courchevel: the family charm of Courchevel Village, home to Chalet Mayor and Chalet La Biche.
Activities to share as a family
Beyond skiing, the mountains offer something for every generation: building an igloo, racing down a sledging run, a husky sledding outing or a snowshoe walk. We arrange these activities with local guides, adapted to your children’s ages. See also our children’s activities and ideas for family après-ski.
