Because at Pointe de Sel, our stays are 100% nature, 100% local, but also 100% sharing, we welcome all ages, all tribes and all audiences! Pointe de Sel offers accessible holidays for families that include a guest with reduced mobility.
Guests with reduced mobility (PRM) often run into difficulties when booking their holidays, and many points need to be checked: suitable accommodation, trained activities and providers, transport, care, etc. None of these off-putting elements is one for Pointe de Sel: aiming to exclude no one, we have thought of everyone!
A Savoyard chalet 100% suited to accessible holidays
We are pleased to offer a stay 100% suited to guests with reduced mobility, thanks to a chalet completely fitted out for this audience: Les Tarines. It is located at La Chenal, a hamlet between Bourg Saint Maurice and Les Arcs, in Haute Tarentaise.
This charming locality, made up of around ten houses, is a true haven of peace offering a breathtaking view over the valley and the Beaufortain mountains. Located at almost 1,300 m altitude, the village benefits from the advantages of mountain air, recharging quiet, plenty of sun exposure and an exceptional panorama.
Les Tarines is a chalet specially designed to host families that include a guest with reduced mobility. On the ground floor it offers a spacious twin bedroom with its wheelchair-accessible shower room, 3 other double bedrooms and a 6-bed dormitory. A lift takes you to the large living space on level +1.

This bright space, offering an idyllic view of the mountains, is made up of a large living area (open kitchen, dining room, lounge) where there is plenty of room and where the layout of the elements allows for optimal wheelchair circulation.
A sauna, the health benefits of which are many (stimulation of blood circulation, relief of rheumatism, strengthening of the immune defences), rounds out the facilities.
Accessible activities for accessible holidays — original summer version…
Accessible holidays do not stop at accommodation, and Pointe de Sel has also designed a programme suited to guests with reduced mobility, so that they can enjoy the benefits of mountain air with complete peace of mind!
On the summer side, we offer paragliding rides in complete safety. Thanks to a specific harness, the flight can take place safely and comfortably. The instructors are specially trained for this type of equipment and flight. All you have to do is let yourself be carried in the air, open your eyes and lungs wide, and discover the mountain from a brand-new perspective.
To also let everyone discover the mountain, Pointe de Sel has identified many walks accessible to guests with reduced mobility. The mountain is not always synonymous with slope and gradient, and it is entirely possible to find flat paths, even at altitude! The advantage of altitude is that it can reduce mechanical constraints at the osteo-articular level, which are often limiting.
Let yourself be guided, for example, to the Col de la Chal, which culminates at 2,600 m altitude in the Les Arcs area. The Transarc gondola, accessible by wheelchair from Arc 1800, will take you there in just under 15 minutes. The journey alone is worth the detour, and its cumulative vertical drop of 837 m is a real spectacle!
Once up there, let your gaze wander between the Aiguille Grive, the Haute Tarentaise valley, the Bellecôte glacier on the La Plagne side, the Arc 2000 and Arc 1950 sites and, of course, Mont Blanc, the backdrop to this breathtaking spectacle. From the Col de la Chal you can reach, in a few hundred metres of flat ground, the bottom of the Grand Col chairlift and enjoy another view of the surrounding summits.
Pointe de Sel also offers more pastoral walks, near the valley. For example, the Vergers de la Ballastières trail, within the Vanoise National Park, is enchanting in itself. During the walk (about 45 minutes) on this accessible, fitted-out path, discover the memory and awareness of a natural heritage: apple varieties. Still very present on the slopes of the villages and hamlets, this local crop is a must-see of Savoie!
For more restful moments, we also offer carriage rides. Let yourself be guided by Jacques, in love with the Savoyard land, its heritage, and a passionate nature lover. He will introduce you to unexpected paths, with many anecdotes. A guaranteed favourite for Jacques and his horses!
…and accessible holidays in winter too
On the winter side, skiing is also for guests with reduced mobility! Pointe de Sel offers outings in ski-chairs piloted by people specially trained to accompany guests with physical, mental or sensory disabilities. Some ski lifts in the Les Arcs area are suited to this chair, and thus allow the discovery of one of the largest ski areas in Europe: Paradiski! The members of the association we work with, Handi’Arcs, are eager to share their love for the mountain with as many people as possible, and do their utmost to make these moments on the slopes unforgettable.

Find on Tripadvisor the recommendations from our guests, including the 5-star review from Muriel’s family, whose daughter has reduced mobility:
We had a wonderful week with the family (11 people), one of whom is in a wheelchair. Élise was a perfect host, attentive to our needs. The chosen caterer was excellent and her meals very generous. The chalet, very clean and well equipped. Marion for yoga, René for massages and reflexology, Martial and his dogs, Guillaume… All very professional. I recommend without reservation!!
