The 2026-27 ski resort opening calendar
Here are the lift opening dates for the main ski resorts in Savoie:
- Méribel resort opening, winter 2026: 5 December 2026.
- Courchevel resort opening, winter 2026: 5 December 2026.
- La Plagne resort opening, winter 2026: 12 December 2026.
- Les Arcs resort opening, winter 2026: 12 December 2026.
2026 ski resort opening: with or without snow?
Of course, no one has a crystal ball. To maximise your chances of enjoying excellent snow cover for skiing at Christmas or over the festive period, at Pointe de Sel we have selected chalets located in high-altitude ski resorts with vast skiable domains.
Méribel and Courchevel are part of Les Trois Vallées, the largest ski area in the world.
La Plagne and Les Arcs, together with Peisey-Vallandry, form the Paradiski area, the second-largest ski area in the world.
All Pointe de Sel chalets are located above 1,500 m, and most are above 1,800 m.

How late can you ski in Savoie?
Have you noted the 2026 ski resort opening dates? You can enjoy outstanding snow cover throughout the winter season. Once again this year, the ski resorts in Savoie close at the end of April.
For skiing in Méribel or Courchevel, the Trois Vallées links will be open until 17 April 2027.
The slopes are scheduled to close on 24 April 2027 in Les Arcs and La Plagne. You can still enjoy excellent snow cover and generally bright, sunny days.
Did you know that last year it was still snowing on 1 May in La Plagne? The resort was quiet, the snow excellent, and chalet and ski-stay rates were far more affordable in April than in February.
