Courchevel is an integral part of the largest ski area in the world: Les Trois Vallées, which also brings together Méribel, Les Menuires, Val Thorens, La Tania, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville and Orelle. With more than 600 km of interconnected ski-in/ski-out slopes, this territory offers infinite combinations for every level.
On its own, Courchevel offers 150 km of marked slopes, spread across 5 altitudes (from 1,300 m to 2,738 m), which lets you ski in highly varied atmospheres, between fir forests and panoramic ridges. One of Courchevel’s major assets is its high altitude: more than 80% of the area is above 1,800 m, and more than 60% above 2,000 m. This feature guarantees not only superb panoramas, but also excellent snow quality throughout the season.

Thanks to its favourable exposure and altitude, Courchevel benefits each winter from abundant natural snow cover. The high-altitude sectors such as La Saulire or La Vizelle are generally well covered from the very first days of opening. The resort is generally open from early December to late April. For the 2025–2026 season, Courchevel is open from 6 December 2025 to 19 April 2026 (provisional dates). 1. La Saulire (2,738 m)
This is the iconic spot. Accessible via the Saulire gondola or the Vizelle one, it offers a panoramic view over Mont Blanc, Les Écrins, and of course the entire Trois Vallées area. At sunrise or sunset, the spectacle is simply magical.
2. The Col de la Loze
Located at 2,304 m, this pass connects Courchevel to Méribel. From the summit, you enjoy a 360° viewpoint over the Tarentaise valley. Ideal for a photo break between two descents.
3. La Vizelle

Located in Courchevel 1850, the Jardin Alpin sector is a true gem to discover, whether you are a skier or not. It takes its name from the prestigious neighbourhood that surrounds it, where some of the most luxurious hotels and chalets of the resort are concentrated, such as Les Airelles, the Palace Le Cheval Blanc, or the K2 Palace.
On the ski side, the Jardin Alpin is a very pleasant sector, with several green and blue slopes, ideal for beginners and relaxed skiers. Thanks to its sunny exposure and its enchanting setting between firs, grand hotels and terraces, it’s the perfect place to ski peacefully while enjoying the scenery. It is easily accessed via the Jardin Alpin gondola, which leaves from La Croisette (in the centre of Courchevel 1850), or directly from some ski-in/ski-out chalets.
Even non-skiers enjoy this sector, in particular for its panoramic terraces, its refined restaurants and its chic, hushed atmosphere. You can get there on foot via a small pedestrian path or by free shuttle, and enjoy a hot chocolate with a view of the summits.

The most beautiful slopes for intermediate skiers
If you already have a few seasons of skiing behind you, Courchevel is full of smooth, long and varied red and blue slopes, ideal for treating yourself:
● The Creux slope
This is one of the longest blue slopes in the area. Largely sun-drenched, it descends from La Saulire down to Courchevel 1850. It winds between vales and forests, with spectacular views all the way down.
● Les Chapelets
Accessible from Courchevel Moriond (1650), this red slope is a little jewel. Quiet, it offers wild skiing, facing the Dent du Villard.
● La Combe de la Saulire
A must! It’s an iconic red slope, very well maintained, ideal for working on your carving turns. Watch out, however, for the crowds in high season.
The best slopes for experts
Fans of technical challenges? Skiing in Courchevel is also a real playground for experienced skiers.
● La Suisse
This is a black slope leaving from La Saulire, with steep and often mogulled sections. A real test for the thighs!
● Grand Couloir
One of the most legendary itineraries in Courchevel, reserved for experts. Ungroomed, very steep, it requires good technique and a solid mindset. But what a descent!
● Jean Blanc
A former World Cup slope, it starts in the forest and chains together tight turns. Technical and fast, it’s quiet, which adds to the pleasure.
