The 2024 ski resort opening calendar
Here are the opening dates for the ski lifts of the main ski resorts in Savoie:
- Méribel winter 2024 resort opening: December 2, 2023.
- Courchevel winter 2024 resort opening: December 2, 2023.
- La Plagne resort opening winter 2024: December 16, 2023.
- Les Arcs winter 2024 resort opening: December 16, 2023.
Ski resort opening 2024: with or without snow?
No one is obviously a diviner. To maximize the chances of having very pleasant snow cover for skiing at Christmas or for the end-of-year celebrations, we have selected Pointe de sel chalets located in high altitude ski resorts, with huge ski areas.
Méribel and Courchevel are part of the 3 Valleys area, the largest ski area in the world.
La Plagne and Les Arcs together with Peisey-Vallandry form the Paradiski area, the 2nd largest ski area in the world.
Les chalets Pointe de sel are all located above 1500 m altitude and mostly above 1800 m altitude.
Believe in our experience, we have always been able to ski at Christmas in our Savoie resorts (and we cross our fingers that it will last a long time).

Until when can you ski in Savoie?
Have you noted the 2024 ski resort opening dates? You can benefit from exceptional snow cover throughout the winter season. The ski resorts close at the end of April in Savoie again this year.
To ski in Méribel or Courchevel, the 3 Vallées links will be open until April 21, 2024.
The closing date of the slopes is scheduled for April 27, 2024 in Les Arcs and La Plagne. You will be able to benefit from a still very satisfactory snow cover and a generally sunny day.
Did you know that last year it was still snowing on May 1, 2023 in La Plagne? The resort was uncrowded, the snow excellent and the prices for chalets and ski holidays were much more affordable in April than in February.
